It's another typically damp night in Manchester and tonight it's the turn of Montreal synth rockers The New Cities to tread the boards at the spring board to stardom that is The Roadhouse.
There's an impressive crowd on hand to witness the boy's final date on their UK tour in support of their debut long player 'Lost In City Lights'.
There's a definite buzz in the air across the sea of tight denim and lumberjack shirts.
The New Cities take to the stage to a chorus of cheers and set about their set with a high level of energy and enthusiasm that has to be admired.
Playing tracks 'Leaders Of The Mislead', 'Dead End Countdown' and the debut album's title track the youthful audience are soon whipped into a frenzy, band frontman Dave constantly thanking the crowd and telling them how fucking awesome they are.
The atmosphere is hot and humid from the pogo-ing bodies on the dance floor.
The New Cities sign off on the track 'Hypertronic Superstar' a favourite with fans which stirs cheers of excitement on it's announcement.
There's tons of crowd interaction, tonight the boys from The New Cities have played to the Roadhouse audience as if they were performing at Wembley Stadium, something that puts them in good stead against other up and coming bands in their market.
In conclusion, a highly entertaining effort from the Canadian youngsters who are surely destined for greatness.
9/10 CARLO
