Notachance has a progressive profile and looks worth a punt at 7/2 to open his account over hurdles in the 2.50 at Newbury today.
Since finishing runner-up in his sole start in an Irish point, this five-year-old has shaped well in four starts for trainer Alan King. He particularly caught the eye last time out over course and distance when fifth of 16 to Jubalani off a mark of 115. Notachance raced keenly in the early stages but held every chance two from home before keeping on to be beaten just 5 1/2 lengths. That race wasn’t run to suit and he will hopefully get a stronger pace to aim at in this. There is little doubt in my mind that there are races to be won with Notachance off his current rating as he shaped as if ahead of it last time out and looks the type to keep on improving. So with the yard in fine form he looks the one to be on in this.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Notachance (7/2 Ladbrokes – BOG)
