Chelsea look bankers at 8/13 to knock QPR out of the FA Cup in their fourth round tie at Loftus Road this lunchtime (12pm KO, Live on Setanta Sports 1)
The Blues have only lost four of their last 35 FA Cup matches away from home, whereas the Hoops have lost 11 of their last 12 against top-flight sides.
Mark Hughes’ side win over MK Dons in the third round replay was their first in the competition since 2001, whereas Chelsea have a terrific FA Cup pedigree having won three of the past five finals.
The visitors will be without Frank Lampard after he suffered suffering a calf injury against Norwich City, and Gary Cahill is set to make his debut having been left out of the squad for last weekend’s goalless draw at Carrow Road.
John Obi Mikel is still out with a hamstring injury while Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou are on international duty for the Ivory Coast in Africa.
However Chelsea still have a whole host of players capable of causing the Hoops major problems, and at 8/13 with BetVictor and Ladbrokes look the outstanding wager in thsi weekend’s action.
Dean Sturridge looks a bit of value at 5/1 with Coral in the first scorer market, especially given that “terrible” Torres has been chalked up at the same price.
Also given that the stats reveal that none of the last nine meetings between the two sides has been won by more than a one-goal margin, Chelsea to win 2-1 if my idea of the outcome and looks worth a small wager at the general 15/2 on offer.
