Groupie has been given a big chance by the handicapper and looks worth a punt at 9/1 in the 4.15 Catterick today now dropped in class.

The filly scored twice when trained by Richard Hannon and got off the mark for Tom Tate 13 months ago when landing a class 5 contest at Haydock by 3/4 of a length off a mark of 75.

She got put up to 78 for that victory and has failed to trouble the judged in six starts in class 4 company.

However, she didn’t run too badly last time out at Chester when a 1 3/4 length fifth of six to Miss Sheridan in a race which wasn’t run too suit and is able to race in this lower grade class 5 affair off the same mark.

Her current rating of 70 is a career-low and having been rated as high as 86 in the past makes her a big player from a handicapping perpsective.

Groupie is also 2-2 in class 5 company, so this is undoubtedly her correct level, and if building on her latest run looks weighted to make an impact in this.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Groupie (9/1 bet365, Boylesports – BOG)
