Having finally been cut some slack by the assessor Mogestic looks worth and each-way punt at 20/1 in the 2.20 at Chepstow today now eased in grade. Trained by Seamus Mullins, this 10-year-old was in good form at the start of the season when registering back-to-back wins in class 5 contests at Plumpton and Fontwell off marks of 98 and 102. He got put up to 107 after the latter and has struggled in five subsequent starts and been well-beaten in each. However, they have all been in class 4 company and he has been dropped 3lb since his last run and is now able to race off 99. It gives him every chance from a handicap perspective if bouncing back and the drop back down into class 5 company and the fitting of the cheekpieces for the first time may enable him to do just that. Mogestic has a near 43 per cent strike rate in a grade having won three times and been placed twice from seven starts in it. Daniel Samson also takes off a handy 5lb with his claim and the yard is in good nick at present having saddled four winners from its last 13 runners.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts eaxh-way Mogestic 2.20 (20/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
