Ghostwatch is a progressive unexposed stayer and looks worth a punt at 4/1 in the 12.35 at Haydock today.

Chralie Appleby’s colt and shaped with plenty of promise to make the frame in two starts as a juvenile, including when a 3 1/2 length third of 10 to subsequent Investec Derby third and Coral-Eclipse favourite Roaring Lion over 1m at Newmarket.

He looked the type that would come into his own as a three-year-old and has two of his three starts this season.

In the last of those at Sandown he relished the step up to the 1m 6f for the first time when easily beating Sharja Silk by 2 3/4 lengths.

Ghostwatch took up the running two from home travelling strongly but then jinked sharply left approaching the final furlong. However, when straightened out he forged clear to win with loads in hand.

Although hit with a 8 lb rise in the weights for that victory he has stacks of untapped potential at this trip and a revised rating of 90 may still underestimate his ability.

Ghostwatch is clearly going the right way and looks the one to be on in this

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Ghostwatch (4/1 BetVictor, Coral, Paddy Power – BOG)
