In the 2.50 at Chepstow today, Heresmynumber reverts to chasing off a handy mark and makes plenty of appeal at 5/1. This Ali Stronge trained nine-year-old was in good form 12 months ago, winning at Fakenham off a rating of 92 before finishing a solid second at the same venue off 97. He then showed a willing attitude when landing a five-runner affair at Sedgefield by a neck off 97 after which he was out up to 100. Heresmynumber is now able to race off 96, 1lb lower than when last victorious, following three spins over hurdles this season. He didn’t shape too badly in the last of those here last month when fourth of six to Uno Mas – leading for much of the contest and making mistake four out before weakening approaching the last to be beaten 11 1/2 lengths. That run suggested he was coming to the boil and if building on it he looks a big player at the weights in this on the pick of his form.
