Itlaaq is lurking on a dangerous mark at present and looks worth siding with at 6/1 in the 5.10 at Ayr.

Mick Easterby’s 11-year-old was last successful in a class 4 contest at Thirsk 12 months ago where he scored by 1 3/4 lengths off a mark of 77.

He got put up to 82 for that success but is now able to race off just 75.

That gives him major claims at the weights on the pick of his form and he ran well off his current rating three starts back when runner-up in a class 4 contest at Pontefract.

Itlaaq also posted a solid effort in a similar grade affaor at York on his penultimate outing when fourth off 77 and now drops back into class 5 company.

The veteran also has the services of promising apprentice Harrison Shaw in the saddle, who takes off another 7lb with his claim, and has good record under inexperienced riders.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Itlaaq (6/1 bet365, Paddy Power – BOG)
