Lots to like about Lush Life

Lush Life looks potentially ahead of her mark and makes plenty of appeal at 6/1 in the 1.50 at Ascot today.

Jamie Osborne’s filly won her first two starts, showing a smart turn of foot on the ssecond of those at Chelmsford when coming between horses to score cosily by a head.

She was allotted and opening handicap mark of 85 on the back of that taking success and ran better than the bare result suggests off it when a 5 length fourth of 9 to Akvavera over 1m at Sandown.

Lush Life pulled far too hard in the early stages and after making headway two from home faded inside the last as those extertions took their toll.

The winner, to whom he was conceding 6lb, has come out and won since off 8lb higher (87). The second and third also went into the race on the back of some solid efforts, whilst Golden Iris – who finished 12 lenjths behind the selection in seventh – won next time up off 77.

That gives the form a solid look and Lush Life has since been dropped 1lb. A revised rating of 84 looks exploitable – especially given her lightly raced profile.

The drop back to 7f, over which she won on debut, also looks sure to suit and William Buick now gets the leg up on her for the first time – so Lush Life looks to have plenty going for her in this.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Lush Life (6/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
