May Be Some Time has caught the eye in his last two starts and is strongly fancied at 7/2 to open his account over hurdles in the 3.20 at Taunton today.

Stuart Kittow’s gelding is a fair performer on the flat who shaped with plenty of promise in three runs over hurdles last season.

In the first of those he finished a never nearer 7 1/2 length sixth of 16 to Wadswick Court in a decent novice hurdle at Huntingdon, and just 3 lengtsh behind the fourth home Chalk It Down who has gone on to win three times since and is now rated 138.

The six-year-old backed that up with a solid 3 1/4 length third to the now 125-rated Speedy Tunes at the same venue, and then posted a cracking effort to chase home 128-rated Dubawi Island at Chepstow, with the pair pulling 10 lengths clear of the third Morning Reggie who has won since.

That is strong form in the context of this contest, and although May Be Some Time has yet to trouble the judge in four runs this season he ran far better than his finishing posotion suggests at Wincanton on his penultimate start when sixth of 12 to Poweful Action in a class 3 contest.

After being held-up at the rear, May Be Some Time travelled strongly into the contest and made stealthy headway two from home before weakening and hitting the last to be beaten 14 1/2 lengths.

May Be Some Time backed that up with an eye-catching fourth of 14 to One Cool Boy last time out at Ludlow when tenderly handled and staying on from off the pace to be beaten just over 10 lengths, and off a mark of 103 he looks weighted to take all the beating.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win May Be Some Time (7/2 generally available – use BOG firms)
