Semana Santa has slipped to a dangerous mark and makes plenty of appeal at 5/1 in the 2.30 at Ayr today.
David Barron’s five-year-old scored at Wolverhanmpton back in 2016 and went on to be placed on several occasions in handicaps off marks of 72 and 74.
He also ran well last year to be placed three times off marks as high as 71.
Semana Santa’s comes into the race on the back of two solid efforts, finishing runner-up at Wolverhampton and third to Gaelic Wizard last time out at Hamilton.
Those runs suggest his time is near to score and overdue success and he has since been dropped another 1lb.
Semana Santa is now able to race off just 55 – a career low – and that gives him a huge chance from a handicapping perpsective on the pikc of his form.
