Tangled has become well-treated and looks worth an each-way punt at 20/1 in the 4.00 at Ascot today.

Richard Hannon’s  gelding has some smart for as a juvenile when winning twice. In the last of those he landed a valuable 19-runner sales’ race at York by a neck off an offical rating of 92.

Tangled went on to finish third to Elarqam in a Group 3 at Newmarket and a 1/2 length runner-up to Nebo in another Group 3 at Newbury off a rating of 106.

He hasn’ made the frame in five starts this season, but has been quite highly tried and took a step back in the right direction last time out when sixth of 10 to Vale Of Kent at Glorious Goodwood over 7f when weakening late on to be beaten juts over 5 lengths.

Tangled has since been dropped another 3lb and is now able to race off a rating of 95. That gives him a big shout from a handicapping perspective on the pick of his form now dropped back down to 6f – a trip over which he has won once and been placed once in three starts.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Tangled (20/1 bet365, 1/4 odds, 20/1 BetVictor – both BOG)
