TOON TO WIN

In a fixture where Palace have historically struggled and never won at St James’ Park, Newcastle come into it in great form with 5 Premier League home wins in a row and Jose Solomon Rondon in flying form.

The Venezuelan striker is one goal away from beating his personal best of 9 goals in one Premier League campaign and looks a sure thing to do so with 6 games remaining.

In spite of recent form, Newcastle have conceded 2 or more goals in their last 4 Premier League games which doesn’t bode well with Palace’s goalscoring consistency. Palace have scored in every single game in this calendar year with exception of their recent 2-0 loss away at Tottenham.

Luka Milivojevic has scored 10 goals this season with 9 of them being penalties, the Serbian simply doesn’t seem to miss given the chance from 12 yards. Wilifred Zaha has won the bulk of penalties for Palace and the tricky forward always causes havoc for opposing defences, he’s also scored 8 goals this season all against teams outside of the top 6.

Palace boast impressive away form for a side in the bottom 7, their away record is 7th best in the division and they’ve achieved 20 of their 36 points away from Selhurst Park including a win away at Manchester City which is the only points the Manc’s have dropped at home this season.

Isaac Hayden and Deandre Yedlin are slight injury concerns for Newcastle with the both players carrying knocks, Palace have a clean bill of health bar Mamadou Sakho, who will be spending a while on the sideline.

A win for either team could all but confirm safety from relegation, putting either of the sides at least 8 points away from 18th position Cardiff but the current form of Newcastle and their record against Palace at St James’ could prove enough.

There is bound to be goals but this one may lean in favour of the hosts.

Palace to score a penalty is generally available around 9/1.

The Daily Sport Best Bet is Newcastle to win and Both teams to Score is generally available around the @5/1 mark, fiver for 30, tenner for 60, take your pick.
