Jawaab has dropped to a very tempting mark and looks worth chancing at 10/1 in the 4.00 at Lingfield.

Richard Guest’s gelding improved last year when fitted with the eyeshields, scoring back to back victories at Southwell and Wolverhampton.

Although he has not won on the level since he has been successful over hurdles, and has dropped a long way in the weights.

The eight-year-old’s victory at Wolverhampton came off a mark of 80 at this time of the year, and he now races off just 66.

That gives him a tremendous chance from a handicapping perspective, especially with Charles Eddery taking another 5lb of his back.

He has also been running consistently of late without being knocked about, and to me he looks sure to take advantage of his lowly mark at some point.

His handler has certainly found him a winnable race if today is the day, and with the stable in form he looks too big at the odds on offer to left go unbacked.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Jawaab (10/1 sportingbet)
