Scooby has shaped well in four starts this season and makes plenty of appeal at 9/2 in the 5.15 at Taunton today now fitted with the hood for the first time.

Graeme McPherson’s charge particularly caught the eye omn his penultimate outing when third of 10 to Petite Power over 2m 5f at Bangor, making a crucial mistake three from home before rallying strongly to be beaten 7 lengths.

It was a solid effort given how the race panned out and one which suggested his current mark of 104 was exploitable.

He was also well-backed that day suggesting that shrwed connections believe they have a well-handicapped horse on their hands.

Scooby has since run well to finjish third behind a well-treared pair at Towcester and the fourth home The Artful Cobbler was in the process of running a huge race when coming to grief next time-up.

If the headgear has the desitred effect Scooby looks weighted to take all the beating.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Scooby (9/2 bet365, Paddy Power, Sky Bet, William Hill – BOG)
